Our Bistro Story
Established in 2005, The Old Rock Shop Bistro can be found on Hamilton Road, in the heart of Cromer town centre…just look for the blue ‘Hovis’ trade bike outside & you’ve found us!
Known locally simply as ‘The Bistro’, we named the business to reflect the heritage of the building. If you know Cromer well, you may remember it as J&M's Rock Shop, a favourite of locals & holiday makers alike, that traded on the site for over 20 years prior to becoming a café.
These days we’re renowned for serving quality food & drink throughout the year, most notably our Signature Norfolk Sausage Rolls and of course…Fresh Cromer Crab!
We also offer a reliable and trusted catering services across North Norfolk, Broadland & into Norwich; providing buffets & afternoon teas in private homes, community venues & businesses.
Across the last two decades we’ve seen our business grow well beyond what we ever could have hoped for, into one of the busiest places to eat in Cromer, popular year-round with both local residents and visitors.
We look forward to welcoming you at ‘The Bistro’. You’ll find us open 7 days a week, 8am – 6pm with food served all day.

The Butchers Joint
Our local butchers supplies the Bistro will a selection of meats including their home-cooked ham & the Norfolk pork sausage meat for our signature Sausage Rolls.

Davies Fish Shop
No visit to North Norfolk would be complete without some delicious Cromer crab, the true taste of the sea.
Our crabs come direct from Davies Fish Shop, the nationally renowned fishmongers who have been in Cromer for generations. They're literally around the corner from us and fish with their own boat from the bottom of the Gangway in Cromer.

Lizzie's Fruit and Veg
Local grocers Lizzie's stocks a wonderful range of fresh fruit and vegetables.
We source all of salad items from Lizzie’s including local Oakleaf lettuces, tomatoes and cucumbers as well as baking potatoes and fresh herbs.
Lizzie's is also our go to place for seasonal vegetables which go into our soup of the day.

Dudley's Bakery
We head to Cromer bakers Dudley’s for all our sliced breads and rolls.
